From The Meadville Tribune Singleterry dines on happiness with Conneaut Lake life & business
“For the last part of 2006 and most of 2007 we enjoyed traveling to spend time with family and friends in Florida, Mississippi, Michigan and Puerto Vallarta. I also cherish getting to spend quality time with the love of my life who makes me extremely happy,” Mary related with a beautiful smile as she looked in his direction as he was busy preparing to open soon for the noon-day lunch hour. In August 2007, Mary and Bill together had bought the restaurant on Route 18, Conneaut Lake, naming it Pelican Landing II, a warm atmosphere place where friends can meet. In so doing, they followed through with carrying over the name of their home, Pelican Landing I.
The middle child of Frank and Eileen Crudo, Mary was born in Oil City in 1953 and has one brother and three sisters. The school years were spent there, and then she was off to college in New York State in 1971 where she studied in the medical assistant program. “In 1973, I returned home and married in ‘75 which out of that produced my precious, beautiful daughter, Lyndsay, who is married to Shane Hoover and live in Meadville, ”Mary shared, lovingly. When Bill and Mary go to Florida they stay at their condo and like to have their friends come to visit when they can get away in the winter. Spare time here with friends is spent on their pontoon boat and jet skiing on the lake. Mary likes old movies and reading romance novels. Her favorites are by Danielle Steel. “I love my life now. I never thought I’d find so much happiness as I’ve had in the last five years. Bill has made me so happy and enjoying life,” she shared. Mary loves the Pittsburgh Steelers and enjoys watching all the team members. Her favorite is Troy Polamalu and her all time favorite is No.58, Jack Lambert. Most of all she loves being a grandmother to Bill’s grandson, David, who calls her “Grand Mary” and grandpa is “Grand Bill,” who both enjoy their nicknames. |
